One of the people we have been working with is an inactive Felipe, He thinks I am the coolest because I had a friend that went to South America and did service (Shout out to Cameryn!) and I love him because he is Uncle Todd, if he was from Ecuador! It is hilarious!!! HE is my favorite person!! He has all of the same mannerisms and voice inflection as Todd and is always cracking jokes. So we have been working alot with Felipe and he is really warming up to us. His only problems is that he literally knows NOTHING about the gospel! He had never heard the Joseph Smith story and had never heard of the Doctrine and Covenants, So we are getting him those in spanish and praying that he realizes he needs to come back.
We have also been doing a TON of finding this past week. Which is super fun! But also the hardest thing in the world, because German People DON'T like when people talk to them on the bus, but whatever we are missionaries we don't follow social-norms. One of the cool things though about finding, is that we are the Uni Elders. This means we work with all the YSA's and University Students! It is so fun!!! So we talk to a lot of students, which is pretty hard because they believe they are super intelligent and sophisticated. SO DUMB!!! But is cool to see how the spirit works on these young kids the same way I have seen it work on me! And maybe for every 50 we talk to one actually wants to listen but that 1 is SO prepared for the gospel.
Also quick stories about the YSA's we get to do FHE every week with them, and this past week we were in charge of the lesson and acitivity. Two words. DANCE CONTEST!! It was incredible we filmed them all and showed them the music video we made to the same song. Pretty much the coolest night ever.
One more quick story, about how bad things become good. This past a week on super I dumped about 1/2 a gallon of Apfel Schorle (carbonated apple juice, its pretty great) on my suit. Well that was terrible well this turned into a big fiasco because I had to take it to the dry cleaners and then I realized I had forgot my suit pants at home. Also I thought my suit pants were my slacks so yes... I did put them in to washer machine... BUT everything is ok! HALLELUJAR! Back to the story. I went to go pick up my suit and tie and they were PERFECT so I thanked the lady and she turned and looked at me and said, "Du sieht wie Engel." Which means "You look like Angels." I was caught off gaurd because first off I understood it and it isn't everyday that someone says you look like Angels especially a muslim lady. Well we started talking to hear and found out she was a Muslim and didn't want to hear about the church but she saw that we were different. She kept saying "Your Glowing." It was one of the single greatest experiences of my life. I had always heard about this special glow that we, as Latterday Saints, have but I had never really experienced it. We Are different from the rest of this world. I know that. THis gospel is the true gospel and we will all have our doubts and questions, but I have really found out that if you just let God's plan and the Holy Ghost guide you everything will turn out fine. Trust in the Lord, and if or when those doubts arise think of what you know to be true, because if one thing is true then the rest is too. I know this with my whole heart. I love Y'all! Hope your having an awesome week! Mac sorry about Duke, Never pick them in the tournie, Train you look like your father with those glasses! Dude your getting to old! Beans, South Pacific looked great! Live it up! We will watch them when I get home!
Y'all the best!
